World Cup Nail Art Tutorial (Brazil 2014)

Hey everyone,
I decided to upload another tutorial this week since there has been so much excitement over the world cup. This tutorial will take some time but the result is worth it. Also, the use of the Brazilian flag is just to acknowledge where the competition is taking place, I am a neutral supporter. In addition, be sure to start off with a base coat to protect your natural nails. Let’s get on to the tutorial!

Step one: Starting with the thumb, polish the nail in yellow and using a thin nail art brush draw on ‘Brazil 2014’.

Step two- football field: Polish the index nail in green and make a horizontal line across the middle of the nail with a thin brush dipped in white. Next, make two semi-circles connecting the half line. Finally, create two boxes as illustrated on the tip of the nail and near to the cuticle to represent the penalty boxes.

Step three- Brazilian flag: Start by polishing the middle nail in a medium green. Next, outline a diamond shape and fill it in using a thin brush dipped in yellow. Place a sizeable blue dot in the middle of the diamond using a dotting tool/cotton swab. Finally, make a white stripe across the blue area and add a few tiny spots to represent the stars.

Step four: On the ring finger apply a gold metallic polish and add a dense micro glitter on top to add some shine to the manicure.

Step five- World cup trophy: Apply white polish to the pinky nail. To obtain the trophy I printed a very small image and stuck it to the surface with nail glue.  Although the image stayed in place, when wet it tends to wash out so don’t expect it to last very long.

Step six: Clean up around your nails to remove any polish from the skin and add your preferred top coat to smooth out design and add shine.
